Maid Services FAQS

Many of our customers have specific questions about our professional maid services. Here are just a few of the frequently asked questions we hear at Molly Maid. If you don't see your question, please call your local Molly Maid franchise.

How do I know I can trust Molly Maid?

Molly Maid is a professional maid service, and we hire bonded and insured residential maids who pride themselves in quality cleaning services. Before joining our team, each maid is trained to perform the detailed cleaning plans to our customers’ specifications. We stand behind our work with a 24-hour Guarantee. If you’re not completely satisfied, simply contact us within 24 hours to arrange for us to come back and re-clean the specific areas that did not meet your expectations.

Who does Molly Maid hire to clean my home?

Our cleaning professionals are trained, bonded and insured before stepping into Molly Maid's nationally-recognized uniforms. Our residential housekeepers respect customers by never eating, drinking, smoking or using appliances during home cleanings. And each Molly Maid employee takes pride in their work, receiving regularly updated training and supervision to ensure quality maid service.

How will our relationship work?

Communication is important for any relationship including ours. Our maid service franchise owners understand we must earn your trust during every visit. It's why we're so flexible, offering customized cleaning service plans designed with your needs in mind. No contracts. No hassle. Establishing this open communication and being flexible ensures your satisfaction as a long-term customer.

What should I do before a home cleaning service?

To make our house cleaning services more efficient, we ask that you pick up clothing, toys and other household items prior to a visit from our housekeeping teams.

Do I have to be home during house cleanings?

Because we clean Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. most of our customers aren't home but the vast majority trust Molly Maid with the key to their home. For additional security, all house keys are individually coded and cross-referenced.

What time does Molly Maid arrive?

Molly Maid can't guarantee what time residential housekeepers will arrive because each home gets the attention it deserves and not a pre-determined amount of time. Still, most homes fall easily into regularly scheduled cleaning windows between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday. If for any reason you require a more precise time of arrival, your local Molly Maid will work with you for a convenient solution.

What if something is damaged during a home cleaning?

We treat you and your home with complete respect. If something does unexpectedly break, we do our best to either repair or replace that item. Residential maids are fully insured, so claims are filed when appropriate.

What if my maid service missed a spot?

Our maid services offer consistent, quality home cleaning. Like all new relationships, however, miscommunications occur and we may make a mistake. That's why we offer a house cleaning service guarantee, which means if you notify your local Molly Maid within 24 hours, our house cleaning staff will correct their mistake at no charge.

Am I liable for workers' compensation, insurance or employment taxes?

Molly Maid is a simple, worry-free home cleaning service solution. That means we take care of personal liability with regard to work-related injury and social security taxes. Some independent maid services may not, which makes homeowners liable. With Molly Maid we are fully insured, licensed and bonded for your protection and ours.

Do all Molly Maid locations offer carpet cleaning?

Exclusive Dry Extraction carpet cleaning methods are available only at specific Molly Maid locations. Each maid service franchise lists specific home cleaning services. Contact your local Molly Maid franchise to inquire about carpet cleaning services.

What does "green house cleaning" mean?

Green house cleaning involves the products, methods and business practices employed by companies to promote both a healthier home and world environment. Green cleaning products do not contain ingredients with ozone depleting substances or flammable chemicals that may irritate skin. Truly green products do not kill harmful bacteria and germs. Companies with green cleaning services should use highly-concentrated cleaners that require less product, as well as employ business practices that encourage using recyclable packaging. Consumers must watch out for "green washing," a term used by environmentalists to define companies that falsely advertise environmentally-safe products or services.

What is "Green Washing"?

Green Washing applies to the cleaning industry when companies advertise green cleaning services that don't reduce the impact placed on the environment. For example, some companies may place bleach in a recycled container and call it a "green" house cleaner. While containers with recycled-content help the environment, consumers are misled to believe its contents are also environmentally-friendly. Molly Maid believes in an open, honest approach to help you find the right balance between environmentally-safe products and a clean, disinfected home that protects your family from unhealthy germs.

How does Molly Maid disinfect homes with green cleaning products?

At select Molly Maid locations, we offer non-acidic, pH balanced green house cleaners without petroleum, alcohol, ammonia or other chemicals. We recommend balancing the use of disinfectants with these green house cleaning products. That could mean during an initial clean housekeepers use less of a highly-concentrated disinfectant. On subsequent maintenance cleanings, our housekeepers could use solely green cleaning products. As always your individual green cleaning services are tailored specifically to your needs.

How is Molly Maid "green"?

Every cleaning franchise works to meet the local community's need for a balanced life and clean home. That means outside of offering green cleaning services, we refill bottles, use microfiber, use fewer products and protect our residential housekeepers and customers from unnecessary exposure. Demand and availability determine whether our maid service franchises stock green cleaning products.

Are green cleaning services offered in my area?

Find Your Local Molly Maid to see whether green house cleaning services are available in your area. Molly Maid works to meet the needs of the communities we serve, so demand will often determine whether these green cleaning services are available. Talk with your local Molly Maid  for more information.

How soon can I take cleaning off my chore list?

Call 1-888-245-4631 to set up a free, no-obligation in home consultation and then schedule your house cleaning. Each Molly Maid franchise is independently owned and operated, and while most of our clients have regularly scheduled cleanings, we are experts at accommodating first-time customer requests.
