What should I do before a home cleaning service?
To make our house cleaning services more efficient, we ask that you pick up clothing, toys and other household items prior to a visit from our housekeeping teams. Learn more on how to prepare for your home cleaning.
Do I have to be home during house cleanings?
Because we clean Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. most of our customers aren't home but the vast majority trust Molly Maid with the key to their home. For additional security, all house keys are individually coded and cross-referenced. Find out what to expect when Molly Maid comes to your home.
What time does Molly Maid arrive?
Molly Maid can't guarantee an exact time residential housekeepers will arrive because each home gets the attention it deserves. However, we do offer arrival time windows and preferences with our "on time arrival" software. Our normal business hours are 8 AM to 5 PM. What if something is damaged during a home cleaning?

What if my maid service missed a spot?
Our maid services offer consistent, quality home cleaning. Like in any relationship, however, miscommunications occur and we may make a mistake. That's why we offer a house cleaning service guarantee, which means if you notify your local Molly Maid within 24 hours, our house cleaning staff will correct their mistake at no charge. Am I liable for workers' compensation, insurance or employment taxes?
Molly Maid is a simple, worry-free home cleaning service solution. That means we take care of personal liability with regard to work-related injury and social security taxes. Some independent maid services may not, which makes homeowners liable. With Molly Maid we are fully insured, licensed and bonded for your protection and ours. What Does Molly Maid Not Clean?
Professional cleaning services from Molly Maid are designed to help keep your home fresh, clean and comfortable. So we customize our house cleaning services to fit your home's unique needs and budget. To provide this level of exceptional service to all our valued customers there are some areas and items in your home that Molly Maid does not clean.
Molly Maid typically does not...

Do I provide cleaning supplies or equipment?
No. Every Molly Maid cleaning service crew comes to your home fully equipped to clean with top-quality products and commercial vacuums. However, because Molly Maid is flexible, if requested and provided, we may clean with your preferred products depending on the chemicals.
What happens if I need to reschedule my maid service?
Molly Maid works with you. We typically recommend calling 72-hours before your regularly scheduled home cleaning with a more convenient cleaning time. Contact your local Molly Maid for specific guidelines regarding rescheduling/cancellations. We will do our best to accommodate your scheduling needs. What if my home cleaning falls on a holiday?
We call to reschedule for a more convenient time when house cleanings fall on holidays. Your local Molly Maid will also remind you about additional maid services in which you may have expressed an interest. Perhaps that means an additional clean prior to a big holiday party. If you've scheduled that extra holiday cleaning service, canceling or rescheduling requires notice. Contact your local Molly Maid for specific guidelines regarding rescheduling/cancellations.
How do I pay for residential cleaning services?
Payments are due the day of your scheduled home cleaning service. Most customers find it convenient to simply leave a check in the home, made payable to Molly Maid, however many of our locations also accept credit cards.
Do all Molly Maid locations offer carpet cleaning?
Exclusive Dry Extraction carpet cleaning methods are available only at specific Molly Maid locations. Each maid service franchise lists specific home cleaning services. Contact your local Molly Maid franchise to inquire about carpet cleaning services.
What does "green house cleaning" mean?
Green house cleaning involves the products, methods and business practices employed by companies to promote both a healthier home and world environment. Green cleaning products do not contain ingredients with ozone depleting substances or flammable chemicals that may irritate skin. Truly green products do not kill harmful bacteria and germs. Green cleaning products cannot sanitize (eliminate 9.9% of bacteria in 10-30 seconds) nor disinfect (eliminate all bacteria in 10-30 minutes). However, Molly Maid's green house cleaning includes the use of microfiber. Microfiber pads picks up small dirt particles that cotton leaves behind and attracts water, oil, and dust. Microfiber reduces 99% of bacteria when mopping oppose to a 30% reduction when using a cotton based mop. Consumers must watch out for "green washing," a term used by environmentalists to define companies that falsely advertise environmentally-safe products or services. What is "Green Washing"?
Green Washing applies to the cleaning industry when companies advertise green cleaning services that don't reduce the impact placed on the environment. For example, some companies may place bleach in a recycled container and call it a "green" house cleaner. While containers with recycled-content help the environment, consumers are misled to believe its contents are also environmentally-friendly. How does Molly Maid disinfect homes with green cleaning products?
At select Molly Maid locations, we offer non-acidic, pH balanced green house cleaners without petroleum, alcohol, ammonia or other chemicals. We recommend balancing the use of disinfectants with these green house cleaning products. That could mean during an initial clean housekeepers use less of a highly-concentrated disinfectant. What do you mean by “window of arrival?”
Upon scheduling your cleaning, you will be given a time frame in which your assigned team will arrive at your home or apartment. Exactly when they arrive depends on traffic, weather and the conditions of other homes on the schedule. A three-hour window of arrival is typical. Please note that if the team arrives later in the arrival window, the actual cleaning may extend beyond the window and occasionally beyond the normal workday. Can I provide special instructions for my team?
We encourage it! Special instructions will enhance the cleaning experience you receive. However, it is very important you communicate any special instructions directly to the office phone so that we can place them in the permanent notes section of your file. Why do I have to have an initial clean at a higher cost?
Over the years, we have found that having that first clean brings your home up to a certain standard. It’s a standard that we promise to maintain. We normally need extra time to properly start the process of eliminating soap scum and mildew buildup along with dust accumulation, baseboards and detailed vacuuming and dusting. How often can you provide service?
Molly Maid’s service can be provided weekly, every two weeks, or monthly, depending on your cleaning needs. We also offer cleanings for special occasions, as well as move-in and move-out cleaning services. Learn more about our flexible house cleaning options.
How competitive are your rates?
Our prices are very competitive, whether they are lower or higher than other services. We may have higher prices than some individual cleaning services because we cover our workers compensation and liability insurance which in return gives you peace of mind as a customer. Do you always send the same team?
We believe that sending the same team is very important and we do everything within our control to send the same team on a regular basis. However, just like every workplace, we experience absences and resignations. We will send a replacement team, if necessary, in order to meet your schedule requirements. Is the team allowed to receive tips? If so how much?
Tips are not expected, however, the teams do appreciate them and are allowed to receive them. We have found it common for clients to tip a few dollars at the end of each clean, or make a larger tip at the end of the year. Is the team OK with pets?
Yes! We are a pet-friendly company and believe it is OK to have pets in the house while we clean. If your dog/cat is aggressive in any way, we suggest leaving your pet outside or in a gated area to ensure the safety of our team. If you are not home during our clean, we ask that you note how to handle the pet so the team is clear when entering the home.
