There’s no need to buy fancy, expensive cleaners when starting your spring cleaning. All you have to do is grab a few items already in your cabinets.
After so many cups of coffee to keep us warm in the winter, Amita Gupta with Molly Maid has an easy way to get rid of the stains at the bottom of the pot. “Add a tablespoon of powdered dishwasher detergent to the bottom of your pot. Just shake it a little bit around the bottom of your pot so that it goes everywhere and then add two cups of hot water.” After an hour, and with no scrubbing, it looks as good as new.
Next we move to the windows to clear off the winter grime.
“Window cleaning is definitely an essential part of spring cleaning and you want to get all of that sunshine in your house. It’s a very easy window cleaner you can put together by using household items,” adds Gupta.
Mix a half gallon of water with a quarter cup of both rubbing alcohol and vinegar; add a few drops of dishwashing soap and mix. Add the mixture to a squirt bottle and place onto a cloth for a streak free shine.
Next we head to the bathroom and drop a denture cleaning tablet into the toilet to clear up hard water stains. Let it sit for a few hours and flush.
Tackling the bathtub just got a little easier. Make a paste with a little Comet cleaner and water. “Use a scrubby; put a little bit of paste on the scrubby and rub it on the stains in the bathtub,” says Gupta.
