Free Time Fridays: Family Fun

Molly Maid knows your time is valuable, which is why we created the “What’s Your Time Worth” Calculator to show you exactly how much time you’re giving up to clean your home. In our new weekly blog series — Free Time Fridays, we want to explore the novelty of free time. Instead of spending your much anticipated weekend chained to your home, take the opportunity to enjoy the things you love most. Each Friday we will feature a new bundle of activities to enjoy while Molly Maid does your dirty work…literally.

The kids are out of school, the sunlight blends into the evening, and the family activities ensue. From the neighborhood barbecues to weekend trips away, family time is an essential part of the summer. Instead of spending your weekend cleaning up after active children, why not get out of the house and spend some quality time together.

Visit the zoo: There are more than 250 zoos and aquariums in the United States, making a visit accessible to just about anyone! Educate and engage the kids while you enjoy getting them out of the house for the afternoon.

Cool down with a frozen treat:  For those summer days of unbearable heat, surprise the kids with a frozen treat. For a healthy alternative to traditional ice cream, try making your own fresh fruit & yogurt pops, frozen yogurt  for a disguised serving of protein, or tofu ice cream sandwiches for a non-dairy alternative.

Water escapades: Sometimes coming up with new and exciting activities for your kids can be challenging during those long summer months. Instead of getting stir crazy, find a nearby lake, river, or pond to try out some new water adventures. Kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding are both fun activities for older kids to challenge their coordination.

Find a beach: Whether it’s a day trip, weekend away, or extended vacation, find that cool sea breeze that you long for during the sweltering summer days. Use Swim Guide to find clean, accessible beaches near you.
